Track Record

 

• Dr. Ruben Sciuto is an experienced statistical analysis consultant with a decorated career spanning over the course of eighteen years. During his career Dr. Sciuto has worked alongside leading health care professionals and coauthored numerous clinical observational studies that have later went on to gain international recognition in refereed scientific journals and international medical congresses.

 

• Dr. Sciuto began his career as a statistical analysis consultant practicing in the major health care institutions of Uruguay. From 2003-2013, Dr. Sciuto served as a statistical consultant in both: the Department of Cardiology and the Department of Clinical Laboratory of the Hospital de Clínicas in Montevideo, Uruguay, and also served as a statistical adviser for the Uruguayan Society for Clinical Pathology (SUPAC).

 

• In 1997 Dr. Sciuto was appointed to the position of professor of medical statistics in the Department of Quantitative Methods, located in the School of Medicine of Uruguay (UDELAR). He served eight years working in this position, and also served two years working as a professor of biostatistics at the University of Agriculture of Uruguay (UDELAR). During this time, he coauthored the book “Estadística Médica”, which later went on to be accepted and utilized as the principal recommended literature for various courses that currently take place at the University of Medicine of Uruguay (UDELAR).

  

• Dr. Sciuto is currently based in Sao Paulo-Brazil where he works as a statistical consultant for: various hospitals (Hospital Das Clinicas of USP, Hospital Sabará, Sírio-Libanês Hospital of São Paulo), clinical research organizations, pharmaceutical laboratories (Merck, Zodiac, Libbs, Ache, Farmoquimica, Zambon, entre outros), and public universities (USP, UNIFESP and UNESP), where he manages conferences, courses, and workshops in medical statistics applied to clinical phase III and IV.

 

• He currently acts as a senior consultant and advisor of medical statistics for the company “SCIUTO ASSESSORIA & PESQUISA LTDA” São Paulo, Brazil.

• Experience in the area of ​​biostatistics and epidemiology, with emphasis on clinical research methodology and research (clinical guidance and advice to researchers).Took courses in medical statistics and epidemiology at the School of Medicine of Uruguay in partnership with the Faculty of Medicine of Limoges - France (1996-2006) with Professor Emeritus Dr. Fernand Boutros-Toni.The main skills are calculating sample sizes in the different trial designs, performing statistical analysis in oncology and cardiology areas using multiple regression models for the prediction of end points of interest and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA).Because of their experience in matching diagnostic methods, one of its strongest points is the validation and consistency of medical devices through linear regression statistical methods.
